Favre and Vikings starters expected to be sidelined

NFL Betting Online: Brett Favre has played nearly four full quarters in the preseason and that’s about all the preparation a 20-year veteran needs.
Favre and the rest of Minnesota’s starters did not play in last year’s exhibition finale and there is no reason to believe Brad Childress will go about things differently Thursday. Tarvaris Jackson started in that 35-31 loss to Dallas last year and will get the starting nod again this week. Jackson played a quarter and a half in that contest before Sage Rosenfels took over for six series.
Jackson will likely see limited action again as Rosenfels is on the trading block. He only appeared for one possession last week so the veteran should be on the field much longer as Minnesota Vikings showcases his talents. Fourth-stringer Joe Webb will probably see some action in the fourth quarter.
Kyle Orton has looked great this preseason for Denver so you will probably see a heavy dose of Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow in this contest. Both quarterbacks are rough around the edges and need as much live action as possible before they are relegated to holding clipboards during the regular season.
Denver faces a short turnaround after playing the Steelers on Sunday night and that will factor into playing time. We’re assuming that Quinn and Tebow each see about two quarters of play.
The Broncos have been monsters during the final preseason game over the last five years. They won 19-0 against Arizona last year as 3.5-point favorites and are 5-0 against the spread since 2004.
Jackson and Rosenfels combine for 31 careers starts while Quinn and Tebow have 12 between them. The edge certainly favors Denver and the home team will emerge with a victory in what should be a low-scoring affair Thursday.
